Introduction to Bursaries

Students involved in full or part-time further or higher education courses in England may be entitled to extra support from their university or college in the form of a bursary, grant or scholarship. There are also some charities, educational trusts and companies who may offer support with extra financial help.

Initially it would be a good idea to speak to the student support department before starting college or university to find out more about the bursaries they offer. There is a lot of information in this section. Have a browse through this and the booklets mentioned below.

Further information on bursaries is available to download as a booklet called Bursaries, Scholarships and Awards. There is also further information to download, prepared by Aimhigher Kent and Medway Partner, Canterbury College, on Armed Forces and NHS bursaries.

Both booklets are available in the Materials section: here.
