The Educational Grants Advisory Service

There are a number of trusts and charities which provide higher education students with bursaries and other financial help. The Educational Grants Advisory Service (EGAS) offers a range of services providing information on funding for students studying in post-16 education in England. EGAS specialises in funding from charitable trusts and maintains a database of trusts and charities that assist students.

The Educational Grants Directory

The Educational Grants Directory 2009/10 contains details of about 1,500 sources of financial help for students in need, giving a total of around £55 million each year. It is the key reference for educational social workers, student welfare officers, teachers and advice agencies, as well as for students and their families. Each entry includes eligibility information, the type of grant given, annual grant total and how to apply.

The Association of Charitable Foundations

The Association of Charitable Foundations is primarily an information and support organisation for grant-making trusts and foundations in the UK. It does not provide grants itself and cannot give advice about individual applications, but it can provide useful links to possible sources.
